Track 14: Biomedical & Translational medicine
Translational medicine (also referred to as translational science) is a discipline within biomedical and public health research that aims to improve the health of individuals and the community by "translating" findings into diagnostic tools, medicines, procedures, policies and education. Translational medicine is a rapidly growing discipline in biomedical research and aims to expedite the discovery of new diagnostic tools and treatments by using a multi-disciplinary, highly collaborative; "bench-to-bedside" approach. Within public health, translational medicine is focused on ensuring that proven strategies for disease treatment and prevention are actually implemented within the community. One prevalent description of translational medicine, first introduced by the Institute of Medicine's Clinical Research Roundtable, highlights two roadblocks (i.e., distinct areas in need of improvement): the first translational block (T1) prevents basic research findings from being tested in a clinical setting; the second translational block (T2) prevents proven interventions from becoming standard practice. It also includes cells, Tissues and disease, Molecular and clinical pharmacology, Biology of cancer, Neuroscience, Cardiovascular, Endocrine research, Women’s, children’s and perinatal Health, Drug safety, Translational informatics.

The biotechnology and its application is expanding step by step and its business sector is relied upon to indicate generous development from 2014 to 2017, attributable to administrative bolster offered to different organizations working in the biotechnology field. Likewise, expanded interest for sustenance in creating nations has prodded the development of the bio agribusiness market. Bio seeds are relied upon to show exponential development contrasted with ordinary seeds. The key areas for the worldwide biotech industry are the United States, Europe, Canada and Australia. Around 600 organizations and 170 thousand representatives in these nations produce approximately 90 billion U.S. dollars of biotech income. Internationally, around 160 billion U.S. dollars were spent on biopharmaceuticals in 2011. This figure is relied upon to surpass 200 billion U.S. dollars by 2016. The United States is the main worldwide biotech player, with more than 60 billion U.S. dollars of income and the business' aggregate business sector estimation of somewhere in the range of 360 billion U.S. dollars. North America is the biggest business sector for biotechnology because of the higher reception of biopharmaceuticals and expanded inclination towards bio administrations because of higher expense in the district. The bio administrations portion is the quickest developing business sector in the Asia Pacific area because of minimal effort of clinical trials.

Importance & Scope:
Biotechnology is an innovative science in which living systems and organisms are used to develop new and useful products, ranging from healthcare products to seeds. The field of Biotechnology is growing rapidly which can be seen in almost every field and its development is making tremendous impacts in Medical/Health Care, Food & Agriculture. The importance and significance can be gauged by the fact that it has made huge advancements over the course of time and is continuing to influence various sectors. Biotechnology is now been shown importance in UAE and they are eager to explore more opportunities through this field. Seeing the abundant opportunities offered by the biotechnology field in the future, UAE government has started investing in this field to make UAE more knowledge base economy in days to come. For this they already initiated projects like DuBiotech which is one of a kind Biotechnology Park in the world where biotech & pharma companies can establish their manufacturing and other units in the park with 100% foreign ownership without paying tax, by this they want to attract more and more biotech and pharma companies to UAE and making more familiarity with life sciences to their own people.
Bio Summit 2016 is an international platform for presenting research about Biotechnology, exchanging ideas about it and thus, contributes to the dissemination of knowledge in marketing for the benefit of both the academia and business. Dubai Bio Expo-2015 aims at bringing together the professors, researchers, educators, program developers, regulators, Industry leads, business leaders, Investors to an international platform for the exciting opportunity to showcase their work, new research, new technology, new products of the company and the services they offer, to a broad international audience.
Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates, located within the emirate. The emirate of Dubai is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is one of the seven emirates that make up the country. It has the largest population in the UAE (2,106,177) and the second-largest land territory by area (4,114 km2) after Abu Dhabi. Is one of the few cities in the world that has undergone such a rapid transformation - from a humble beginning as a pearl-diving centre - to one of the fastest growing cities on Earth. Dubai today is a tourism, trade and logistics hub and has earned itself the reputation of being the ‘gateway between the east and the west.’ It is also considered as the dynamic nucleus of the Arabian Gulf region.
Home to just over 2 million people from more than 200 nationalities, Dubai is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. Living in Dubai has a lot to offer. It is safe, politically stable, centrally located, and has a good education system and healthcare facilities, modern infrastructure and much more. The sun shines almost every day, the shopping and leisure facilities are impressive, and the salaries are tax-free. Living in Dubai is exciting, something new and different happens every so often. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a new project is announced, whether it is the launch of a sports stadium, a mega commercial tower, a residential enclave or yet another shopping mall. Dubai is constantly on the move, striving for greater heights and more facilities and comfort for its residents and visitors.
Dubai is without a doubt a destination of the 21st century. Read any article about the fastest growing city in the region and it’s almost guaranteed you’ll see the words ‘ambitious’, ‘record-breaking’ and ‘staggering’. This meteoric growth has not gone unnoticed, and each year thousands of expats arrive to claim a slice of the action.

Glance at Market of Biotechnology:
The biotechnology market is expected to show substantial growth during the forecast period from 2014 to 2017, owing to regulatory support offered to various companies operating in the biotechnology field. In addition, increased demand for food in developing countries has spurred the growth of the bioagriculture market. Bioseeds are expected to show exponential growth compared to conventional seeds during the forecast period from 2014 to 2017. The key regions for the global biotech industry are the United States, Europe, Canada and Australia. About 600 companies and 170 thousand employees in these countries generate some 90 billion U.S. dollars of biotech revenue. Globally, around 160 billion U.S. dollars were spent on biopharmaceuticals in 2011. This figure is expected to exceed 200 billion U.S. dollars by 2016. The United States is the leading global biotech player, with more than 60 billion U.S. dollars of revenue and the industry’s total market value of some 360 billion U.S. dollars. North America is the largest market for biotechnology due to the higher adoption of biopharmaceuticals and increased preference towards bioservices due to higher cost in the region. The bioservices segment is the fastest growing market in the Asia Pacific region due to low cost of clinical trials.
